Important Fall League Information :
  • All parents and players MUST read through the Participant Expectations tab at the top of the page carefully. Please let us know if there are any questions about league expectations for both players and parents.
  • Spectator and Player safety is our top concern at all times! Do not step on a lacrosse field without wearing a helmet, avoid passing and shooting in areas with parents and unprotected players, and use caution between games when there are people coming and going across the fields.
  • Parents should sit on areas around the outside sidelines of the fields, never behind any goals. Please keep any young children that might be at the games on the sideline or outside the fenced area at all times and always pay attention to the field. Lacrosse balls have a mind of their own and can bounce a number of different directions.
  • All players should arrive 30 minutes early for their first game on September 12th to check in at the registration table. The following weeks please arrive 15 minutes early. Games will start on time each week using a central horn to start and stop each game as well as signal halftime.
  • Players must play for their assigned team each week, and will only play one game in an age bracket. Players must wear their YLS jersey during the games, this will help make sure players are on the correct team and help track stats for Division 4 and 5.
  • TeamYLS.com will update the standings for division 2-5 each week, and track goals, assists, and saves for division 4 and 5. If there are any statistical issues please email Coach Holota at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and he will update the website as soon as possible.
  • Although our league is very competitive, the Fall league is about having fun and becoming a better lacrosse player. Enjoy the games, root your team on, and enjoy being a part of the most exciting fall league in the Triangle!

League Rules

  • Standard NFHS rules will be used for all age groups, including the "back book" modifications for the 3/4th and 5/6th age groups. The following modifications will be used as well :
  • Games will be 2 25 minute running time halves. Clock will stop under 1 minute for tied games or games within one goal. Please notify the time keeper if a game is under this situation.
  • One timeout per team per game. Timeouts may not be used by a winning team with less than 2 minutes remaining in the game. Timeouts will be 30 seconds in length.
  • Player safety is a concern, penalties will be called very tight in the league, and there are no take-out checks for any division, meaning no player should ever end up on their back as a result of a hit. "Boxing out" and physical play is permitted as long as it is safe and within the spirit of the game. Players that are continuously out of control and playing in an unsafe manner will be removed from the current game, and potentially the league.
  • Fighting will not be tolerated and will result in removal from the league.
  • Penalties will result in a fast break in Divisions 3-5. In Division 2 possession will be awarded to the team incurring the penalty and the penalized player must be removed from the field for at least one full shift.
  • Players receiving penalties must always be removed from the field for a shift, except for goalies.
